FRANK LLOYD WRIGHT'S

FALLINGWATER

Legendary Architect, Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater alternatively known as the Kaufmann Residence is located just a short 20 minutes drive from Claycomb Chalets. The famed house was designed by architect Frank Lloyd Wright in 1935 in Bear Run, Pennsylvania. Fallingwater is built partly over a waterfall on Bear Run in the Mill Run section of the Laurel Highlands for the esteemed Kaufmann family from Pittsburgh, PA. The Kaufmann Family donated Fallingwater in 1963 to the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy who then opened it up to the public in 1964. Today Fallingwater is a National Historic Landmark  and over 180,000 people a year visit Fallingwater  annually. Fallingwater now offers paid private tours as well as daily grounds passes to view the house and property.

Frank Lloyd Wright's other local attractions include Duncan House at Polymath Park and Kentuck Knob. Fallingwater is very close to another popular Laurel Highlands attraction and State Park, Ohiopyle.  You can easily visit Fallingwater and Ohiopyle in the same day. Fallingwater does tend to get busy given the amount of annual visitors it receives so we strongly suggest calling ahead of time or buy your tickets online at https://tickets.fallingwater.org/ before your visit.

Claycomb Chalets is located about 20-25 minutes drive from Fallingwater. To reach Fallingwater turn right out of our drive to the stop sign at the bottom of the hill. Turn left at the stop sign Route 711 and continue to Normalville stop sign. At Normalville turn left on Route 381 and continue to Fallingwater that will come up on your right.
