Kennywood
Kennywood was initially built in the late 1800’s and is located near Pittsburgh, PA. Kennywood has 50 rides that includes 9 roller coasters. Kennywood is known for some classics such as The Jack Rabbit, The Racers, and The Thunderbolt. On the modern side of rollercoasters, don’t forget the Phantom’s Revenge Rollercoaster that features a 230 ft. drop that goes underneath The Thunderbolt on the second drop. There also is the Sky Rocket which takes you from 0 to 50 mph in less than 3 seconds. Don’t forget about the brand-new Steel Curtain Rollercoaster coming in summer of 2019. At 220 feet tall, the Steel Curtain makes for the tallest rollercoaster in PA, which is one of three records this coaster sets. The Steel Curtain also features 9 inversions making it the most inversions in North America. As if that isn’t enough it also features the tallest inversion 197 feet making it the tallest inversion in the world. If you thought you had fun here before, this coaster will make you think again!
In addition to these thrilling coasters, Kennywood features 14 kiddie rides and a new Thomas and Friends section that was added in 2018. Many of these rides are scaled down versions of the amusements offered for older children and adults, such as a mini ferris wheel and more. While the big kids set out to conquer the coasters, you can train your little tykes on the kiddie rides.
