Kooser State Park is located in the heart of the Laurel Highlands. This 250 acre State Park was established in the 1930’s and features a beautiful lake and trout stream that runs the full length of the park’s property. The park also features several picnic tables, gazebos and gathering areas that make for a perfect for a family gathering, fishing outing or afternoon picnic. During the summer months the park’s beach is open to visitors who enjoy taking a swim or sunbathing along the lake’s shoreline. Once winter arrives Kooser State park becomes a popular cross-country skiing destination.

Kooser State Park is open year-round from sun-up to dusk. Other areas of the park may have different seasonal hours. Fishing is allowed at Kooser State Park with a valid Pennsylvania fishing license. A special trout endorsement is required to fish for any species of trout. Kooser Lake is stocked with freshwater large & small mouth bass, crappie, walleye, catfish, and lake trout. Spotted, striped and white bass are also commonly caught at Kooser lake.
