About Claycomb Chalets

Claycomb Chalets - 35 Years of Family Tradition

Welcome to Claycomb Chalets, nestled in Champion, Pennsylvania, just minutes away from Seven Springs and Hidden Valley, at the heart of the Laurel Highlands.

Founded by the renowned mason, Jack William Claycomb Sr., Claycomb Chalets have a rich history. Jack, who had honed his masonry skills in Ohio, crafted his first mountain chalet upon settling in Champion. This “A-Frame” masterpiece, constructed entirely from locally-sourced timber, served as his creative canvas for several years.

In time, Jack expanded his vision, purchasing a 5.3-acre parcel of land where Claycomb Chalets now stands. Over a decade, with the help of his son, Jack Jr., and loyal friends, Jack Sr. meticulously built six more mountain chalets, each mirroring his initial design. For 34 years, Jack Sr. welcomed guests, including local mountain employees and ski patrol, into his chalets, fostering a warm and inviting community.

Today, Claycomb Chalets is proudly owned and operated by Jack’s children and their family. Since 2014, they’ve continued their father’s legacy by opening the chalets to the public and offering short-term vacation rentals. These chalets provide a unique year-round destination, combining the charm of authentic cabin living with modern amenities such as flat-screen TVs, high-speed internet, and fresh linens. Whether you’re here to explore the mountains or simply unwind, we invite you to experience the warmth and history of Claycomb Chalets. Your adventure awaits in the Laurel Highlands.

Warmest Regards,

Jack and Julie Claycomb
